Course objectives
The course aims at enabling the students to prepare and present on their own a statement in a contemporary social debate on a 'power point' base. In the distance learning class, subjects from the field 'current changes in the world of working and professions' are preferred. Following every statement, a group talk or short debate on the issue should be guided and directed by the candidate. After every lesson, each subject should finally be treated in a short essay to be written at home, including the most important results from the debate in class. It is aimed at improving any abitlities in speaking and writing that may be helpful when presenting one's opinion in a spontaneous but ordered and reasonable manner.
Syllabus
  • Various topics (literature, linguistics, communication science, cultural studies, geography etc.) are discussed.
    The lesson will be structured as follows:
    approx. 30 minutes presentation
    approx. 25 minutes doing exercises on the topic
    approx. 15 minutes discussion of the topic
