Course objectives

Objective of the course is presentation the package of information retrieval languages. Lectures characterize systematic and subject retrieval languages at the Czech libraries and information institutions. The course lays foundations of practical applications of systematic and subject retrieval languages.

• 1. Systematické selekční jazyky - základní charakteristika a historický vývoj
  2. Klasifikace a přehled systematických klasifikačních systémů
  3. Systematické selekční jazyky v praxi v ČR a zahraničí - DDC, MDT, Cutterova expanzivní klasifikace, Blissova bibliografická klasifikace
  4. Předmětové selekční jazyky - základní charakteristika a historický vývoj
  5. Klasifikace a přehled předmětových selekčních jazyků
  6. Předmětové selekční jazyky v praxi v ČR a zahraničí - LCSH, MeSH, Polytematický strukturovaný heslář, tezaurus EUROVOC
