- Course objectives
- The aim of the programme is to acquaint students with the basics of feature film directing in relation to basic knowledge and understanding of screenwriting. However, emphasis in this course will be placed on the basics of directing documentary AV works, including a reference to the importance of professional and artistic preparation before the actual shooting.
- Learning outcomes
- In coordination with other programs of the semester, the student shoots several short audiovisual exercises and participate in the creation of a documentary with a recommended length of 26 minutes, which is created as a joint work of students of the year.
- Syllabus
- The influence of individual professions on the final AV work. Work during the actual shooting and the final form of the audiovisual work in the editing room and in the sound studio. Practical exercises - directing a document or its part. Practical exercises - directing a fictional scene. Mutual cooperation of students with the obligatory exchange of roles in the film crew. Film thinking as a theoretical field, examples from films. Analysis of daily work and preparation of recorded material for editing. Analyzes of own audiovisual works.

- Teaching methods
- Theoretical preparation in the form of a lecture, practical exercises in the open air and studio, practical exercises in the editing room and sound studio.
- Assessment methods
- Students' knowledge is verified by a interview, a written test at the end of the semester and especially by the evaluation of the student's own audiovisual work. The final evaluation is the intersection of evaluations from individual areas.
