- Course objectives
- The aim of the seminar is to provide students with a deeper overview of the current state of modern instrumental methods of analysis for survey of cultural heritage objects and monuments and at the same time extend their practical skills in conducting surveys on selected real samples. Information about physical structures that through methods of the natural sciences gain are one of the basic prerequisites for the realization of deep survey in frame of complex treatment. Emphasis is therefore placed on the optimal choice of methods and procedures with regard to the nature of the sample and (inorganic and organic origin) and based on the knowledge of the nature, scope and limitations of selected instrumental analysis (destructive, non-destructive and semi-destructive).
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will be able to: - describe the principles of basic instrumental methods used in the research of historical materials - choose methods suitable for the analysis of specific historical materials - conduct a survey of the subject by selected instrumental methods - interpret the results of selected instrumental analyzes.
