- Course objectives
- The course expands students' knowledge of cultural history and heritage by European, respectively. world dimension. Attention is paid to selected monuments of the world (Mesopotamia, Egypt, civilization of the American continent and Asia) and especially European cultural heritage (monuments of individual countries from prehistory, antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and Baroque, 19th and 20th centuries). Their role in the historical context and especially in the current practice is emphasized, especially in the field of education, tourism and the development of the tertiary sphere. In the seminar, students learn to distinguish and compare cultural values from different historical periods and different world civilizations, they are led to form an independent opinion, to a creative approach to the presentation of cultural heritage.
- Learning outcomes
- The student will learn about the world cultural heritage, with an emphasis on the monuments of architecture and urban planning. He will also learn the basic principles of valuing the components of the world heritage, with priority given to examples from Europe. As part of the seminar, students will learn about the long-term impact of outstanding monuments on the culture of the continent or even the world.
