- Course objectives
- The elective seminar develops a series of lectures from Recent History II, mainly in the form of independently prepared papers, the topics of which are selected to deepen the basic knowledge of lectures, or. developed less exposed problems and led students to work with (printed) sources. Topics can be continuously changed. The organic part of the seminar consists of students' discussions on the papers, resp. problems raised by the seminar leader, further analysis of (especially printed) sources important for the issue and elaboration of seminar work. The gain of the credit is conditioned, in addition to participation in the seminar, by the activity of students (participation in discussions), the quality of the paper on the assigned topic, resp. term paper. When compiling the work, the student must demonstrate mastery of the basic techniques of the historian's work; in addition to compiling a special bibliography, emphasis is placed on searching for printed sources and source editions, working with sources, the ability to independently formulate problems. The scope of the work should not fall below 12 standard pages, of course, there are proper citations of the sources and literature used.
