- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to summarize and strengthen frequent more difficult grammatical phenomena aimed especially at the language used in tourism, hospitality and spas both written and oral. The students will further enrich their professional vocabulary and language structures applied in professional situations in all the areas of tourism. Emphasis will be put on independent presentations and professional attitude.
- Syllabus
- 1. Present Perfect Simple and Continuous. Word formation. Adverbs. Telephoning. Giving news. Writing letters, expressions in different kinds of letters. Formal and informal letters.
2. Past perfect. Reported statements. Words in context. Saying goodbye. A love story. Arguments in families. Writing a story
3. Jobs in tourism, tasks and duties. If you smile, other people will smile back!
4. Dealing with guests/clients, polite phrases. You never get a second chance to make a first impression!
5. Dealing with foreign guests/clients. Different nationalities have different customs.
6. Settling queries and requirements. Try to treat every client in the same way that you'd like to be treated yourself!
