- The aim of the course is the ability of students to translate texts from various sources in the field of mechanical engineering and metallurgy.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- navigate the field of metallurgy and mechanical engineering;
- translate professional texts from the field of metallurgy and mechanical engineering; - Syllabus
- 1. Introduction, structure of the course, exercise types, unit 1 vocabulary 2. Steel, carbon, steel production phases, mini mill, exercises, unit 2 vocabulary 3. Physical, chemical and mechanical properties of steel, exercises, unit 3 vocabulary 4. Technological properties of steel, microstructure, measurements, analyses, exercises, unit 4 vocabulary 5. Production of pig iron, exercises, unit 5 vocabulary 6. Production of liquid steel, casting, electric furnace, exercises, unit 6 vocabulary 7. Hot rolling, cold rolling, exercises, unit 7 vocabulary 8. Annealing, exercises, unit 8 vocabulary 9. Steel coils: processing and service centers, plates, exercises, unit 9 vocabulary 10.
