- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to introdoce the development of bibliology in the Czech lands and their current state the students. The course concentrates on the development in the 20th and 21st century. The second part of the course focuses on the basics of restoration and preservation of library collections.The specifics of bibliology of the late 19th and 20th century. Bibliophila. Modern art movements of the 20th century and their influence on the bibliology (Symbolism, Surrealism, Dadaism, Futurism, etc.). Bookbinding in the 20th century. Changes in the form of the book in the 20th and in the early 21st century. Introduction to the restoration and preservation of library collections. Czech journalism in the 18th and 19 century Czech journalism of the 20th century. The beginning of the publishing activities in the Czech lands. Publishing houses in Czechoslovakia 1918-1938. Publishing houses in Czechoslovakia after 1945.
