Course objectives
The course consists of a series of lectures from prominent representatives of Czech scientific skepticism. Students will learn the essence of critical thinking, the role and function of science (with special emphasis on the natural sciences). It shows students how to interpret the information from reliable and unreliable sources, such as sources of difference.
Syllabus
  • Science. The role and function of science, scientific method, falsifiability, internal consistency, consistency with observation, Occam's razor, razor Popper, Hume's razor. Science and faith.
    Information. Working with sources of information, credibility manipulation. Skeptical Dictionary. pseudoscience
