Course objectives
Because most libraries are public information institutions, the issue of money and defending their expenses is an absolutely crucial issue for them. At the same time, however, the nature of their activities, ie information and other services to users, is so specific that it is difficult to defend their existence and value for society. The aim of this course is to introduce students to the terminology and methods of library evaluation. Further define the objectives of measurement. Go through number of methods that are used for this purpose in the world and try them out.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- identify the most important methods used in the evaluation of libraries;
- apply the selected method to the services of a certain library;
