Course objectives
This course introduces the overview of the most influential literary critical schools in the 20th century. Students will be acquainted with their various approaches towards terminology and methodology used for text analysis. The course will cover not only the traditional methods introduced by formalist and structuralist critics, but will also pay attention to modern approaches to text, such as gender and ethnic studies.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
-identify and describe the main literary critical currents and approaches
-apply them to the literary text
-use literary-critical terms
