- Prerequisite for mastering the undergraduate program Introduction to screenwriting and dramaturgy is a common stylistic ability and mastery of the teaching language at the level of high school graduation exam.

- Course objectives
- The aim is to introduce students to the basics of dramaturgy and selection of the script of a future AV work, including the issue of research and preparation of materials for the creation of their own script. Basic methodological procedures and tools for the analysis of the emerging and "finished" scenario. Psychological game - a group of listeners generates a common film story and participates in the creation of the relevant script. Analyzes of students' individual work.
- Learning outcomes
- The output is the student's own scenario, or (pre-defined and individually processed by the student) a part of a common scenario, arising within the psychological game during teaching. The secondary goal is a dramaturgical assessment of the work of colleagues and the analysis of several exemplary finished films.
- Syllabus
- Film language. Basic means of expression of audiovisual works and their influence on film communication. The film and its screenplay. What is a literary background? Is the script necessary even for small AV works from our everyday practice? And what can possibly replace it? Scenario as a basic element of communication between different professions in the production of AV works. Collaboration of the director with a screenwriter, cinematographer, editor and sound engineer. Changes in the script during the realization of the AV work. Directing AV works - historical development of the field.

- Teaching methods
- The course is taught in the form of lectures and practical exercises using procedures from psychological games. Special emphasis is placed on students' homework and their subsequent analysis in teaching.
- Assessment methods
- Evaluation includes individual analyzes of student´s work during discussion with the teacher and joint analyzes of work with colleagues - students. Active feedback and gradual editing of emerging literary works and screenplays is important.
