Course objectives
The main task of the course is to familiarize students with the archaeological development of the Czech lands in the early Middle Ages, or the time or Slavic fortified settlement. The interpretation of a very complex issue begins ethnogenesis of the Slavs, continuing acquaintance with the times of Great Moravia and the Government Přemyslovců in Bohemia and Moravia. The main emphasis is put on material relics collected over the last century by three generations of archaeologists. Will be discussed settlement and fort of our direct ancestors, especially revealed by the remains of houses, walls and churches. Attention will also be paid ceramics, jewelery and cult. Due to the extensive resource base may be submitted only basic overview of a very complex issue, to help students navigate the often conflicting theories published in recent years a comment basic literature which was often nationalistic or ideological aims.
