Course objectives
This Latin course builds on the course ‘Latin for Italian Students 1’. Students will learn about the perfect tense of Latin verbs, the meaning of the gerund and gerundive, and also about half-clauses (accusative with the infinitive, nominative with the infinitive, and the ablative absolute). They will put their knowledge to the test using shorter, simpler texts.
Learning outcomes
The student is familiar with the basic grammatical categories in Latin, all verb tenses and how they are formed. They are able to translate shorter, simpler texts with the aid of a dictionary.
Syllabus

1. Revision – declension of nouns and adjectives; verb tenses derived from the present stem (present, imperfect, future; degrees of comparison of adjectives and adverbs) 
2. Perfect stem of verbs and tenses derived from it
3. Supine, participles, descriptive conjugation
4. Gerund and gerundive, infinitives
5. Partial clauses – accusative with infinitive, nominative with infinitive, ablative absolute
