Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the nature, principles and effective techniques of sound recording. After the necessary theoretical introduction and practical exercises, the student should be able to record and process sound for an AV work in the most common situations without serious deficiencies. - Sound and sound recording. - Analogue and digital recording -Sensing and recording equipment. Microphones and their characteristics, instrument pickups, characteristics of recording and reproduction systems, signal level and its measurement -Working with recording equipment, use of microphones, recorders and camera preamplifiers in practical situations -Cabling and wireless transmission -Techniques for recording sound on location - Fundamentals of audio processing
