Course objectives
1.Basics of audiovisual programme production The basic principles of audiovisual programme production are applicable to the production of programmes presented in planetariums. Students will be introduced to their simplest forms, such as the dataphone or video podcast. In this part of the exercise, students will also be introduced to a range of case studies. 2. Communicating Science in the Planetarium The history of the development of this illustrative, originally just an astronomical tool, into a new, quite specific medium. Students will learn about the predecessors of planetariums as well as the vast era of "projection planetariums" and the digital era that followed. 3. The "fulldome" projection era The contemporary concept of the planetarium as a new medium that can offer multi-genre shows. This part of the exercise is the focus of the course, students will attempt to create a script for a fulldome projection show aimed at popularizing the natural/humanities.
