- Course objectives
- An overview of the basic characteristics of solar system bodies obtained through successful space exploration, an overview of the technical design (satellite observatory, spacecraft, lander, mobile laboratory, etc.) and a description of common scientific equipment including an analysis of its operation.
- Learning outcomes
- The student will know: - methods of remote sensing of space - facts about solar system bodies in particular
- Syllabus
- 1. Historical context and overview of important milestones 2. Progress of the space mission for remote sensing 3. Methods of technical design of space remote sensing assets (space observatories, flyby probes, etc.) 4. Scientific instruments and methods used in particular for the exploration of solar system bodies 5. Remote space exploration and specific requirements for astronomical observations near Earth.
