Course objectives
The aim of the course is to develop students' practical skills in camera work. With knowledge of compositional techniques, understanding of cinematic image and space, to teach students basic craft habits. Camera positioning, types of shots, ability to use it in both static and dynamic scenes. Light-tone scene design, cinematic language, cinematography techniques, working in a feature and documentary film crew. As part of the course, students carry out practical exercises with the teacher in the studio as practice in the use of artificial light and shot choreography. Students carry out a minimum of four practical exercises per semester independently and consult with the teacher in class. The exercises are filmed according to the assignment of the teacher and are focused on the use of theoretical lectures in practice. Lectures: - Light as a basic tool for creating cinematographic images - The cinematographer uses light to create a three-dimensional image on a two-dimensional screen - Some basic lighting situations using a simple lighting set-up - Shadow as a tool for creative finesse - How humans perceive individual colours - Film choreography in dual motion
