An integral part of the course is also understanding the functioning of families with a disabled member and the attitudes of society, including the legislative framework. Students will be introduced to methods of special education and will develop an understanding of the specific needs of individuals with visual, hearing, intellectual, physical, combined disabilities, as well as those with communication disorders, specific learning disabilities, and behavioral disorders.

Field-specific skills: The student is able to navigate the specific features arising from different types and levels of disability and disadvantage. He/she reliably works with relevant professional literature, is able to search for, interpret, and apply acquired information in practice, and can link acquired knowledge with the needs of the professional field. General competences: The student is able to recognize risks resulting from the social exclusion of individuals and families with disabilities and is capable of proposing preventive measures in this area.
