Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquire knowledge in ENT and phoniatrics, concerning organic and functional changes in the human organism. It focuses on hearing, speech and voice disorders in childhood and adulthood. Students will learn about the importance of cooperation between doctors and special educators in the progress and correction of impaired functions of individuals with disabilities.
Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes: Professional knowledge: - the student can describe the anatomy and development of the auditory organ - the student knows the anatomy of the articulation and respiratory system, is familiar with the basic classification of voice and speech disorders - the student can explain the terms of phoniatrics, ENT, audiology, audiogram - the student is able to perform re-educational auditory exercises Professional skills: - the student can use professional terminology General competencies: - the student is able to navigate professional terminology and use the acquired knowledge in pedagogical practice - the student will be able to estimate anatomical and physiological deviations from normal in special pedagogical diagnostics

Contents: 1. Otorhinolaryngology, definition of the term Basics of anatomy and physiology of the auditory apparatus, ear development Physiology and pathology of hearing, developmental defects of the ear Basics of acoustics. Audiology, its meaning, audiogram Hearing examination in children and adults Anatomy of the articulatory and respiratory systems Hearing and age, hearing and speech 2. Anatomy of the articulatory and respiratory systems Voice formation, basic terminology Voice disorders in children and adults Hearing disorders in children and adults Speech disorders in children and adults Course review
