Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the issues of working with therapies and therapeutic and activation techniques within the field of special education. Specifically, students will become familiar with the definition and characteristics of activation activities and therapies, theoretical foundations for the activities, structure and organization of work, goals, principles and conditions of activation activities, needs and inclusion in the current education of people with special needs.
Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes: Professional knowledge: - the student is able to define and theoretically define therapies and activation activities in special education, in the context of comprehensive rehabilitation - the student can briefly define the history of the use of therapeutic procedures in pedagogical and helping professions - the student can assess the starting points of therapies and the basis of therapies in special education - the student can characterize psychotherapy as a starting discipline for therapies in special education and its principles Professional skills: - the student can analyze the relationship between therapies and the ontogenetic triangle as a primary diagnostic basis for working with therapies - the student knows the methods, means of selected therapeutic methods - the student can compile a goal, partial goals and a procedure for a specific activation activity or therapy - the student can assess the risks, circumstances, conditions of the activation process General competencies: - the student can express the relationship between therapeutic and activation activities and special pedagogy in the context of complex rehabilitation - the student is able to describe the structure of the methodology of a specific activation or therapy - the student is able to independently create a special pedagogically guided activation or therapy
Syllabus
Contents: 1. Definition and delimitation of activation techniques, therapeutic methods and therapies in special education Historical context of the use of therapies and activation techniques Therapies and their diagnostic contexts - ontogenetic triangle 2. Therapies and their approach contexts, psychotherapy Therapy in the context of comprehensive rehabilitation care Goal, intention and essence of the use of activation techniques and therapies in special education 3. The actual process and phases of therapies in special education, moving towards methodical use by special educators Selected concepts of commonly used therapies - expressive therapy 9. Selected concepts of commonly used therapies - occupational therapy 4. Selected concepts of commonly used therapies - animotherapy Focus of therapies according to types of disabilities and limits of people Activities and therapies as an educational alternative for pupils with severe multiple disabilities

Submission of a seminar paper on the topic of Written preparation and implementation of activation techniques or therapy for a specific person with a disability (or a child/pupil with special needs). Credit will be awarded based on the evaluation of the seminar paper
