- Course objectives
- Familiarization with the field of Adapted Physical Activity (APA) within the framework of special education and kinesiology. Understanding the basic systemic pillars of APA – sport, physical education at school, leisure time and physical recreation, and APA within the system of comprehensive rehabilitation.
- Learning outcomes
Knowledge of physical activities and their planning based on the specific needs of pupils.
Professional Knowledge:- Understand and recognize the importance of Adapted Physical Activity (APA) for the lives of individuals with special needs.
- Plan appropriate leisure-time adapted physical activities for individuals with special needs.
Professional Skills:- Include individuals with specific needs in leisure-time physical activities.
- Identify and assess appropriate conditions for physical activities within the school environment.
General Competences:- Communicate with other professionals in the fields of sport, school physical education, leisure time, and rehabilitation.
- Demonstrate the ability to provide appropriate arguments for the protection of the rights of individuals with specific needs in the area of sport and physical activities.
- Communicate with physical education teachers and identify the needs of pupils with special educational needs in order to prevent their exclusion from school physical education.

- Practical demonstrations of sports and movement games for individuals with physical and visual impairments.

Seminars for part-time students will be divided into two three-hour blocks. The first block will focus on theoretical topics, while the second block will consist of practical seminars aimed at experiential learning and further developing skills in the field of Adapted Physical Activity (APA). A colloquium will be held at the end of the second block.
Face-to-face instruction and consultation hours will be provided. Students will complete selected correspondence assignments, through which they will demonstrate their knowledge of the required literature and the content covered in the face-to-face lectures. Students will have the opportunity to consult individually studied course topics on an ongoing basis via email, as well as through individual or group consultations.
