- Course objectives
- The aim of the subject is to acquire the competences of a teacher's assistant for direct pedagogical activity in education and upbringing according to precisely defined procedures and instructions of the teacher or educator, focused on individual support of pupils, to support pupils in achieving educational goals during teaching and in preparing for teaching with an emphasis on the highest possible degree of pupil independence, to educational work focused on creating basic work, hygiene and other habits and other activities associated with training pupils' social competences. Attention will also be paid to the content of indirect activity of a teacher's assistant (consultation with the teacher, preparation for teaching, etc.).

- Learning outcomes: Professional knowledge: - the student is familiar with legislative measures guaranteeing inclusive education - the student knows general didactic principles and teaching methods - the student can describe forms of work in individualizing teaching - the student has knowledge corresponding to the activities of a teacher's assistant Professional skills: - the student provides educational work focused on supporting the teacher, especially when working with a group of pupils with special educational needs - the student provides organizational activities in educating a group of pupils with special educational needs - the student provides assistance in adapting pupils with special educational needs to the school environment - the student mediates assistance in communicating with pupils, legal representatives of pupils and the community from which the pupil comes - the student provides necessary assistance to pupils in self-service and movement during lessons and at events organised by the school - the student participates in educational work connected with training pupils' social competences with special educational needs General competencies: - the student has a positive relationship with students with special educational needs, has the necessary level of empathy and understanding, patience and consistency - the student is able to adapt his/her communication intention to the communication context when interacting with parents and students - the student is able to work under the guidance of the teacher and accept his/her instructions
