Course objectives
The aim of the course is to equip students with the professional competence to provide direct speech therapy intervention for children and pupils with a diagnosed simple pronunciation disorder. Attention will be paid to the orientation diagnosis of language and speech skills, activities aimed at supporting the natural development of speech and preventing the occurrence of speech disorders and the occurrence of reading difficulties. Emphasis will be placed on the application of re-educational procedures and exercises.
Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes: Professional knowledge: - the student will explain the competencies of a speech therapist assistant - the student will describe physiological peculiarities and risk manifestations in speech development in the context of language levels - the student will explain the principles of orientation speech therapy diagnostics Professional skills: - the student can apply the means of orientation speech therapy diagnostics in children and pupils with risk manifestations in speech development - the student provides direct speech therapy intervention in children and pupils with gross speech defects - the student implements reeducation procedures determined by the speech therapist - the student plans and implements preventive stimulation programs in order to support the development of language and speech skills General competencies: - the student is ready to cooperate with other experts - the student provides legal representatives of children and pupils with symptoms of risk speech development information about the availability of speech therapy care - the student searches for new knowledge in the field in order to applications in special education and correctional programs
Syllabus
Content: 1.-2. Comprehensive approach to the development of language and speech skills 3. Principles of speech therapy prevention. Specific skills and cognitive functions supporting speech development 4.-5. Selected areas of orientation diagnostics of speech development from the point of view of language levels 6.-7. Special pedagogical methods and forms of supporting the development of children's language and speech skills 8. Communication competence of the teacher, speech model 9. Planning and implementation of activities to support the natural development of speech 10.-11. Methodology of reeducation of delayed speech development 12. Methodology of reeducation of dyslalia
