Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
Presentation, discussion, translation, learner activation, simulation, pair work Reading: reading comprehension, sentence analysis, translation. Speaking: topic discussion, oral presentation, nurse-patient dialogues. Listening: video sequences, nurse songs, dictations. Writing: essays, fill-in handouts, medical papers. Mixed skills: crossword puzzles, knowledge tests, vocabulary practice, grammar exercises.

Contionuous assessment: student performance and activity evaluation, essay assessments, written home assignment - translation (ca. 2 pages A4), vocabulary revision, classroom presentation 5-10 minutes on a topical health issue, micro-teaching a grammar exercise, discussion. Final assessment: written test (vocabulary, paragraph translation, matching) - scored with a minimum of 80 per cent correct answers or as stipulated
