- Course objectives
- The aim of the subject is to introduce students to social policy as a practical activity and as a field of research from selected perspectives. The students will gather knowledge of the goals of social policy, the definition of its field of interest or its tools, and it will promote them in detail with an area, which interacts with the field of other social science disciplines and influence other practices (social work, social pedagogy, social administration, especially in the field of employment, etc.). Students will also be introduced to the historical development of social policy, the concept of the social welfare state, the functioning of specific areas of social policy and their connection with other spheres of public policy and administration.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will get:
- knowledge of the theory of social policy, especially he will get familiar with the processes of its implementation and with goals and functions of social policy
- an overview of the functioning of specific areas of social policy and their interconnection with other spheres of public policy and administration
- understanding of socio-political approaches, starting points and theories
- insight and references needed for an informed assessment of the current state and events in social policy
- theoretical and practical basis for further study of applied disciplines in this field - Syllabus
