- Course objectives
- The aim of the subject is to introduce the historical development of political system in Czech lands from 1918 till present day in two chronologico-thematic blocks. The first one portrays main trends of development of political system and its subsystems (constitutional, partial and electoral and organs of state power) of Czechoslovakia in 1918-1989. The second block portrays transition to democracy after 1989, decline of Czechoslovak federation and the course of transformation of constitutional and political system in the Czech republic including final comparison with other central European countries. The attention will be paid to selected issues of forming conflict lines, representation of interests, communal politics as well as role of administration in political process. The students acquire synoptical facts about fundamental institutions of political system in the Czech republic as well as about principles of their activity, they are able to orient in current political process and view it in wider historical connections.

5. Changes of post-totalitarian regime of communist Czechoslovakia (1956-1989)

- Written test verifying knowledge of character and changes of political system of Czechoslovakia and the Czech republic, of basic subsystems and institutions as well as principles of their action from 1918 till present day is composed of two parts. The first one comprises at least 10 closed question with four possible answers from which one or more or all can be correct, the second part comprises analytic-synthetic or comparative comment.
