Course objectives
The goal of the discipline is to understand the content and nature of social pathology in general, to create the basic terminology orientation, to get familiar with traditional and modern theories of social pathology and to apply the mentioned themes to old age.
Syllabus
  • - The interpretation of basic concepts. Types and functions of social deviations in society.
    - Biological, psychological and sociological theories of deviant behaviour - the most important representatives and approaches.
    - The social (exclusion) isolation of elderly people - causes (social, medical and psychological factors).

    3. The social (exclusion) isolation of elderly people - causes (social, medical and psychological factors).
    4. Biological, psychological and social causes of negative social expressions in the elderly. Negative emotions as a cause of negative social phenomena in the elderly.
    5. Addictions - alcoholism, drug addiction.
    6. Non-substance addictions - gambling, oniomania, addiction to demonstrations, accumulation of things.
    7. The elderly and groups with sectarian features.
    8. Suicidality of elderly people.
    9. The issue of aggression and violence against the elderly.
    10. Eating disorders in the elderly population.
    11. Media and their impact on the elderly.
    12. Poverty and homelessness among elderly people.
