Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The course provides basic knowledge of the field of family policy, focuses on its targets, agents and institutions. Offers students the possibility to master not only the theoretical basis regarding the family, but also practical knowledge about the conditions of life and the issues of current families. It deals with specific family needs, such as incomplete families, families with a disabled member, families of ethnic minorities, families, where socially pathological phenomena occur, etc. Study Outcomes: Professional Knowledge: Students can explain and apply knowledge from the field of social policy aimed at helping families. Professional Skills: Students are well-informed on issues in various areas of family relationships and the current status of the family. General Qualification: They understand the knowledge acquired during their lessons and can apply them in further studies and in every-day life.

    3. The basic characteristics of family, internal structure and interactions.
    4. The basic functions of family. The value of parenting, socialization and education.
    5. The characteristics of today's families, the status of family members.
    6. Family cycle phases and their pitfalls.
    7. The issue of motherhood, women on parental leave.
    8. Family policy objectives.
    9. Family policy agents. Institutions active in family policy.
    10. Financing family policy activities.
    11. Families with specific needs I.
