- Course objectives
- The aim of the Course builds on the previous course of Integration processes in Europe. Its aim is therefore to describe the emergence, the progressive formation and phasing EU until such form as we know it today - (ECSC, EEC, Euratom. Single European Act, the Schengen Agreement, so called. 4 freedoms, the Maastricht Treaty, the Amsterdam agreement in Copenhagen). The course is to shortly underpin legislative area (with EU law), analyze common EU policies, genesis and impact of EU structural policy with special reference to regional and social policy, tackling unemployment), as well as issues of monetary policy and the functioning of the so-called. Other policies, processes reconstruction of the EU institutions and the problems of the education system and educational institutions. The task of the seminar is a factual analysis of the problems, the preparation of seminar papers and presentations, followed by discussion on the topic. Study Outcomes: Professional Knowledge: Student acquire knowledge about the efforts to integrate Europe already in the distant past, the knowledge about the history and shaping of integration groupings after World War II in Europe and beyond, up to the present, including theoretical apparatus. Professional Skills: Students are able to navigate the issue of developing and shaping EC and Europe after World War II. General Qualification: With their theoretical knowledge, the students meet the prerequisites of middle management level workers and the possibility of continuation at a higher level. Competences: Students are well informed on the issue of economic and political events in Europe, and also able to give a qualified interpretation of these issues.

3. EU institutions and bodies and their activities, the legislative foundations of the EC/EU, the binding principle
4. The common policy of the EC / EU - general characteristics, definition (trade, transport, agriculture) 5. Monetary policy (Economic and Monetary Union), the emergence of the Euro zone, 6. Structural policy of the EU Structural Funds
7. Community policies of the EU - EU Social Policy
8. Other policies (instruments) of the EU (industrial, medical, schooling - education, environmental protection, consumer protection, etc.), sectoral policies - ECSC, Euratom
9. Free movement of workforce
10. The Accession Treaty, current issues, Nice, Laeken, the Convention entry of 10 new members (May 2004) the EU Constitution, prospects for further enlargement of the EU
11. EU crisis, labour markets, Lisbon Strategy, Europe 2020
12. EU in the 21st century, road to building a political union.

- Recommended participation in lectures, active participation in the seminar, submission of a specialised seminary paper in the range of 7 pages and its presentation. The term paper is a prerequisite to the exam.
