Course objectives
Students will expand their means of expression - current German terminology in relation to special pedagogy and disability symptomatology. They will further deepen their knowledge of the personalities of German-speaking countries, who have fundamentally influenced the development of the scientific field of special education. Emphasis will continue to be placed on working with foreign language texts and their understanding, searching for information related to special pedagogy. Students will also get a more detailed overview of German terminology in the field of speech therapy, deaf therapy, ophthalmology, somatopedia, psychopedia and issues of autism spectrum disorders.
Learning outcomes
Expertise:
- the student expands his active and passive vocabulary - he deepens his knowledge of German terminology in connection with the field of special pedagogy by learning isolated German terms and through work with foreign language texts
- the student will get an overview of selected current publications by German-speaking authors related to the field of special pedagogy and improve their current knowledge of the field by searching for information
- the student deepens his knowledge about important personalities of German-speaking countries with a connection to the field of special pedagogy
- the student will expand his language skills in the area of special needs (physical, psychological and social)
- the student will expand his knowledge in the field of speech therapy, deaf therapy, ophthalmology, somatopedia, psychopathy and in the area of autism spectrum disorders in the German language in connection with the knowledge acquired in the Czech language
Professional skills:
- the student will improve his skills in the area of understanding the German language
- the student will further deepen his overview of education and employment opportunities for people with special needs in selected areas of German-speaking countries and in the Czech Republic by working with texts and independently searching for information in the media
- the student will expand his awareness of the possibilities of employment and other life realizations of persons with special needs by watching short documents and discussing them

Entry language level B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference. Completion of all tasks in the e-learning environment is a condition for granting credit.

Teacher's information
Personal contact in lessons, consultation hours. During ongoing studies, the student uses study support and processes selected correspondence tasks. Here, at the same time, he will demonstrate his knowledge of compulsory literature and contact teaching lectures. The student will be able to continuously consult individually studied subject topics via e-mail, individual or group consultations. The subject has an e-learning course prepared in IS SU and a team established in MS Teams, which also serves as another possible tool for communication with the teacher and between students.
