- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to provide students with a broader perspective on the issues of partnership, marriage and parenthood, especially on possible crisis situations.
- Learning outcomes
- The student will acquire professional knowledge, demonstrating basic orientation in the given discipline. At the same time, he will gain practical knowledge so that he can contribute to the implementation of appropriate prevention in practice.
- Syllabus
- 1. Development of marriage over the centuries – marital and premarital customs and rituals
- 2. Choosing a partner in terms of intersexual differences and partner myths
- 3. Typology of partner cohabitation
- 4. Partnership and partnership education. Choosing a partner
- 5. Civil union
- 6. Premarital relationships, pros and risks of alternating partners
- 7. Marriage (civil and ecclesiastical). Legislative, social and relationship dimensions
- 8. Marriage and education towards marriage. Implementation of the given education in the school environment
- 9. Parenthood and education towards parenthood
- 10. Solving partner (marital) crises. Infidelity manifestations and possible risks of infidelity
- 11. Divorce Negative effects of divorce. Divorce rate
- 12. Family – definition of the concept, form and function of the family. Different definitions of the concept of family on the basis of different criteria

- Assessment methods
- Exam: from the specified mandatory literature and lectures (the condition for registering for the exam is to fulfill all requirements for the seminar - seminar requirements: 1. attendance - mandatory participation - max. 2 absences excused, 2. presentation (the student can discuss the presented topic with others), 3. active participation in activities in the seminar according to the assignment. Students must actively participate in the discussed topics and activities, passivity in seminars may be a reason for failing the seminar.
