Course objectives (in Czech)
Předmět navazuje na povinný předmět Metody a techniky sociálního výzkumu (???) a přináší posluchačům základní orientaci v moderní statistice a jejím využití ve veřejné správě. Obsahem předmětu je v prvé řadě sběr a zpracování statistických údajů, zásady sestavování a čtení statistických tabulek a grafů, interpretace popisných charakteristik statistických souborů. Dále se předmět soustředí na vysvětlení podstaty regresní a korelační analýzy jako základních prostředků zkoumání vztahů mezi hromadnými jevy a na možnosti jejich využití v praxi, na nejdůležitější pravděpodobnostní modely, zejména normální rozdělení, a na podstatu statistické indukce, včetně postupů testování statistických hypotéz, vždy s důrazem na možnosti jejich využití v rozhodovací praxi. Předmět zahrnuje také sestavování časových řad, jejich analýzu a využití pro prognózování, a seznámení s moderními směry indexní teorie.
