- Course objectives
- The aim of study of the course English for public administration 3 is that the students will be able of basic communication in English regarding topics referring to their future profession, orientation in these topics (according the professional word-stock in PA3) as well as development of language skills of general English. The attention will be paid to all parts of study of language: Speaking, Reading, Writing and especially development of use of specialized word-stock in written expression. The course is based on self-study of recommended literature and e-texts for combined study. The students will participate in some tutorials in which they can consult the concrete issues and test their knowledge. The work with compulsory and recommended literature or other sources (extend at about 180 pages) is expected and also testing according the tests KET and PET. The students will concentrate on elementary vocabulary of so called Office English it means English for authorities and company, specialization WRITING. The graduate will be able to write short email or message, They will be introduced also structure of written expression and spoken presentation. Issue: correct structure of email, formal and informal letter, arranging the appointments, written and spoken expression. The students of both groups will be presented professional terminology - according to the texts and word-stock for PA3. The group of pre- intermediate will revise and deepen basic language skills and thematic circles according the book English 365 Book 2. The students will focus on widening grammatical knowledge and listening of texts. The testing according to certificate KET WRITING will be used as extra material. The group of intermediate will develop deeper basic knowledge and widen specialized word-stock and thematic circles according to book English 365 Book 2 distinctively. The student will concentrate on widening of grammatical knowledge especially on use of professional vocabulary in written expression. The testing according to certificate PET WRITING will be used as extra material.

- The students have to pass the pre-exam test from professional word-stock PA3. The group of pre- intermediate has to pass pre-exam test KET- part WRITING, intermediate have to pass pre-exam test PET - part WRITING.
