- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is that the students can test their theoretical knowledge and gain practical experience from the sphere of social policy and social work. The specialized practical training will take place in state and non-state social institutions aimed at help to various target groups. In its frame, the students will adopt primary methodical processes and means of work with users of social services. During the practical training, they will use their theoretical knowledge especially from courses contained in the blocks Social policy and Social work, they will test principal methods and techniques of social work. The training will enable the students to confront their ideas about the character of social work with the reality in the Czech republic (or abroad) and learn the content of ethic social standards as well as standards of quality of social service. The practical training of the students in individual social subjects will result in detailed written report which the students will gradually consult with their training supervisor in the institutions as well as with the course teacher. Reflexion and self-reflexion of the students will be included in the supervisor meetings in the frame of the course Seminar in Professional Practical Training. The aim of the seminar is to provide the basic information about suitable places for the training and transmit some concrete experience from practice of the social worker. The seminars will contain also supervision lead by the teacher and discussion about specific problems which the students can meet on their positions in the frame of training. The students will be lead, by the means of discussion, role play or methods of art therapy and drama-therapy, to gain a kind of view on the whole issue and learn to find and propose various possibilities of solving specific problems. The seminar is focused on teaching the students to apply theoretical findings from social policy and social work (alternatively from sociology, psychology and other disciplines) to practical level. In the frame of the seminar, the students will also learn to understand the supervision as important form of professional growth of the social worker, as a form of gaining and adopting knowledge, skills and experience necessary for work in social area.

- Meet the obligations to carry out a practical training in the extent of 78 hours per semester, hand in a report from training including all duties - training agreement, confirmation of permission to do a practical training, confirmation of execution of specialized practical training.
100% participation in seminars, active participation especially by the participation in self-experience games. Composition of seminar work on the topic regarding the application of the theory and paradigms of social work to practice.
