- Course objectives
- The course contents consist in nurse's knowledge and skills important for understanding of significance of clients'/patients' free time. It is focused mainly on senior citizens, but it also provides information on other age categories, children included. It provides exercises with music, which are appropriate for both seniors and people suffering from mental retardation. It also points at new possibilities of free time using by seniors and handicapped people. Learning outcomes: Professional knowledge: The students are able to explain terms of free time activities. They can explain significance of free time activities for specific age categories and handicaps, above all for senior citizens. Professional skills: Based on their knowledge, the students are able to assess adequacy of the specific activity for the specific client/patient or group. General ability: The students are able to take an independent decision and to choose the right type of a free-time activity for seniors or handicapped people responsibly. Competence: The students shall enhance their acquired abilities of proposing the appropriate activity, both theoretically and practically.

- Attendance in a minimum of 80 per cent of seminars is required for completion. Students who could not attend a number of lessons for serious reasons will be assigned extra tasks.
