- The aim of the subject is to present to the students the statistical terms and methods used in public policy.
- Syllabus
- 1. Basics: Frequency and probability
2. Basics: Probability in unique situations.
3. Descriptive statistics: Characteristics of central tendency and dispersion.
4. Descriptive statistics: Data processing by means of spreadsheets.
5. Descriptive statistics: Data processing by means of statistical programmes.
6. Correlation and regression analysis.
7. Time series analysis: basic principles.
8. Time series analysis: processing and interpretation.
9. Questionnaire survey .
10. Evaluation of questionnaire survey by means of statistical programmes.
11. Estimates and testing of hypotheses: basic principles.
12. Choice of a statistical test and running the test by means of statistical programmes.
13. Utility: what approaches should be taken to statistically based decision making.
