- Course objectives
- The subject is aimed at complex and structured conception of pedagogic issues, key terms, concepts and aspects of educational theory, which should be comprehended as a foundation for additional subjects over the definition of the subject, functions, principles and objectives of education - science base on the education of people. Also, the student will obtain an analytical overview of the educational system sub-components, marginal academic disciplines, analysis of individual instructional process parts, key competences of the subject and object of education, the conditions, means, forms, content, concepts, research methods, alternative pedagogical concepts and movements, including important personalities and trends in pedagogy embedded in the concept of lifelong learning. By the conception of this subject students will develop their critical thinking, creativity of the student, including the capability of independent and responsible decisions making in the given field.
- Syllabus
- 1. Elementary categories and terms: pedagogy, education, learning, life-long learning programmes, anthropology and pedology.
2. Pedagogic subject, the pedagogic subject definition, informative and formative character.
3. Formation of pedagogy as an isolated systemic science (J. F. Herbart, J. A. Komenský); concept of pedagogics in genesis and at present in the view as an object of study.
4. Pedagogic directions, alternative schools and movements since the 1930s till the present.
5. Functions and tasks of pedagogy and a pedagogic paradigms concept.
6. System of the pedagogical sciences, characterization of the pedagogical disciplines; the history of pedagogy and education system, preschool pedagogy, school pedagogy, collegiate andragogy, social ped., special ped., free time pedagogy, comparative pedagogy.
7. The auxiliary and marginal pedagogical disciplines; philosophical disciplines, psychological disciplines and sociological disciplines.
8. The instructional theory, goals and principles of education; comparison with general instructional theory and learning -via goals and principles.
9. Contents of education, learning plans and curriculum, RVP and ŠVP (Framework Educational Plan, School Educational Plan).
10. Educational forms and methods, didactic and instructional methods and techniques.
11. Components of education in a democratic society; rational, moral, to humanism, esthetic and artistic, occupational, physical, multicultural, integrated, to parenthood, individual importance of competence for lifelong education for the harmonic development of human personalities.
12. Personality and crucial competence of instructed individuals (students).
13. Personality and crucial competence of educators (parents, teachers).

- Exam: Final test from compulsary and recomended literature + lectures + Seminar test (condition for Final test) - both: minimum 75% successful fulfilment from 100 points; active participation on seminars; attendance; permanetly can make a consultancy with the professor due to e-mail.
