- Cíle předmětu
- The course is aimed at acquainting the students with the latest knowledge in the field of nursing care for physiological new-borns and with classification of new-borns. The course describes care for new-borns, basic terminology, priorities of perinatal. Having finished the course, the students have good grasp of basic care for new-borns, nursing assessment under use of nursing anamnesis methods, they are acquainted with planning and assessing the care.

- 1. Physiological newborn – basic terminology, factors affecting perinatal results.
2. Newborn classification – pathological, high-risk, hypothrophic, post-term newborn.
3. Nursing anamnesis / assessment of a newborn.
4. Planning and assessment of care for a newborn.
5. Interventions during the first treatment of a newborn after delivery, first contact with the mother, rooming-in.
6. Interventions during treatment of a newborn in the first week after birth.
7. Standard plans of care for selected conditions – diagnostics, expected results (goals, criteria), nursing interventions, assessment.
8. Nursing documentation in care for physiological newborn, records mastering, hard copy / electronic form.
9. Education of newborn's mother, monitoring, physical examinations, newborn screening.
