- Cíle předmětu
- To introduce students to the theoretical foundations and practical dimensions of volunteering in the context of social work. To explore the role of volunteers in supporting individuals, communities, and social institutions. To develop students’ understanding of the ethical, legal, and cultural aspects of volunteering. To foster intercultural awareness and encourage students to reflect on their own values and motivations related to civic engagement. To support students in identifying and analyzing good practices in volunteer management and community involvement. To provide opportunities for critical reflection and connection between students’ academic learning and practical experiences.
- Výstupy z učení
- By the end of the course, students will be able to: -Describe key concepts, forms, and functions of volunteering in social work settings across different countries. -Compare and contrast volunteering systems and civic engagement practices in international contexts. -Analyze ethical dilemmas and professional boundaries in volunteer engagement. -Demonstrate an understanding of how volunteering contributes to social inclusion, empowerment, and development. -Reflect critically on their own values, motivations, and potential roles as volunteers or volunteer coordinators. -Apply principles of effective volunteer coordination, including recruitment, training, and support strategies. -Collaborate in intercultural teams to design or evaluate a volunteering initiative. -Communicate ideas clearly in both oral and written forms, using appropriate terminology from the field of social work and volunteering.

- 1/Written Exam - Essay. Students will respond to 5 essay questions covering theoretical and practical aspects of volunteering in social work. Topics may include motivations for volunteering, the role of volunteers in different welfare systems, ethical challenges, or international comparisons. Assessment Criteria: understanding of key concepts; structure and coherence; Critical thinking and analysis; use of relevant literature; answer completeness. Maximum of 25 points; a minimum of 15 points 2/ The project development of a volunteer activity Assessment Criteria: Clartity and Relavence of Project Goals, Terget Group and Community Impact; Feasibility and Planning, Ethical Considerations and inclusion; Creativity and Innovation. Maximum of 25 points; a minimum of 15 points
