Course objectives
The seminar provides students with information and instructions on how to prepare a bachelor's thesis in the theoretical and practical parts. It is based mainly on the student's independent work and ongoing consultations. An introductory meeting will be held at the beginning of the semester, where students are introduced to the formal and content/methodological principles of preparing a final thesis. During the semester, individual consultations between the student and the supervisor of the bachelor's thesis are held, focused on specifying the topic, orientation in information sources, obtaining and studying the initial bibliography on the topics, proposing the structure of the thesis, formulating the goal, clarifying and selecting methods, and preparing the theoretical part of the thesis.
Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes: Professional knowledge: - the student formulates and specifies the problem that he wants to solve in the bachelor's thesis - the student constructs the content structure of the final thesis project - the student verifies the formulation of the basic theses and the method of solving the selected topic - the student processes the collected data and evaluates and interprets the results - the student discusses the prepared conclusions of the work and draws recommendations for practice Professional skills: - the student independently searches, sorts and critically evaluates theoretical and practical information relevant for the systematic and comprehensive solution of the consequences of a health problem at the level of an individual, group, community General competencies: - the student can recognize the problem and clarify its essence, or break it down into parts - the student can create hypotheses and propose sequential steps, consider using different procedures in solving a problem or verifying a hypothesis - the student applies appropriate methods and previously acquired knowledge and skills when solving problems, in addition to analytical and critical thinking, also uses creative thinking using imagination and intuition - the student critically interprets the acquired knowledge and findings and verifies them, finds arguments and evidence for his/her claims, formulates and defends substantiated conclusions - the student is open to using different procedures in solving problems, looks at the problem from different angles - the student considers the possible pros and cons of individual solution options, including assessing their risks and consequences
Syllabus
Content: 1. Assignment of the thesis topic with emphasis on its topicality Introduction to the requirements for theoretical study, basic literature Formulation of the main objective of the thesis, research problem, partial objectives and research questions Outline of the content of the theoretical foundations, specification of the formulation of the research problem (or hypothesis) of the practical part Organization of research, selection of methods and techniques for collecting research data Determination of the research part schedule, selection of the research support 2. Preparation for collecting data to verify research questions, or hypotheses Ongoing study of theoretical sources for processing the theoretical part Updating the research part schedule, finalization of the research support Pilot verification of research tools Specification of the research methodology Specification of the content of the theoretical part, formal adjustment, citations

Assessment methods
The student will develop a research project on a theoretical level, including an outline of the content of the theoretical part. He will develop a research project on the selected problem and the current status of the solution in professional publications. This includes formulating the objectives of the work and proposing a methodology for his own research, following the instructions and structure of the research project according to the supervisor of the bachelor's thesis.
