- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to prepare students for the specifics of raising and educating students with autism spectrum disorders, to create conditions for their education, and to introduce students to new trends in the education of students with autism spectrum disorders.
- Learning outcomes
- Learning outcomes: Professional knowledge: - the student is able to characterize autism, describe individual autism spectrum disorders - the student knows the legislation related to school issues of education of pupils with autism spectrum disorders, especially Decree No. 27/2016 Coll. in relation to support measures - the student is able to describe the system of counseling services for students with autism spectrum disorders - the student will be oriented to vetiology and diagnostics Professional skills: - the student is able to define the special educational needs of students with autism spectrum disorders in relation to the creation of an individual educational plan - the student is able to apply special methods and forms of work to students with autism spectrum disorders - the student is able to use the acquired theoretical knowledge in teaching students with autism spectrum disorders General competencies: - the student is able to use the acquired theoretical knowledge in teaching students with autism spectrum disorders - the student is able to independently create and apply special teaching aids - the student is able to independently apply the structured learning method in teaching students with autism spectrum disorders with regard to the individual capabilities of individual students

- Contents: 1. Development and changes in approaches to childhood autism, demographic characteristics 2. Characteristic manifestations, deficits and behavior 3. - Assessment methods
- Preparation, implementation and presentation containing records of preparation for direct work with students with autism spectrum disorder focused on the application and practical application of intervention strategies for students with their own evaluation. Submission of the portfolio and its presentation is a condition for registering for the didactic test. The didactic test consists of open questions based on the questions and tasks listed in the study materials for the subject. The didactic test is focused on both theoretical knowledge of key concepts related to the education of students with autism spectrum disorder, as well as the ability to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge to pedagogical practice
