Syllabus
  • Students will demonstrate research methods, design and do an empirical study and present this in a written report called a bachelor thesis. Bachelor thesis constitutes the final and concluding task in the Bachelor programme in Economics and Management and shall be defended.

    Knowledge and understanding
    In the bachelor thesis the student shall demonstrate knowledge and understanding in the field of study, including both knowledge of the field and a degree of basic methodological knowledge in certain areas of the programme (specialization) as well as insight into current research, development work and/or real practice.

    Competence and skills
    In the bachelor thesis the student shall set up the aim of the thesis and decide about appropriate methods. Student shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge, to analyse, assess and deal with identified issues in real practice, to comment on performance of others and to self-reflect, to create new ideas, to make decisions and to solve problems. Student will declare the ability in speech and writing, to report clearly and discuss conclusions, the knowledge and arguments on which they are based in dialogue with different audiences, both in a national and international context. The student shall also demonstrate the skills required for participation in research, development work and/or real practice.

    Judgement and approach
    In the bachelor thesis the student shall demonstrate the ability to assessments with regard to scientific, social and practical aspects, insight of the possibilities and limitations of research and the ability to identify the personal need for further knowledge in the field and to take responsibility for his or her ongoing learning.
