Course objectives
The course includes basic knowledge of both partial policies, i.e. fiscal, monetary and external trade monetary policy, as well as individual segments of economic policy, where it introduces students to their instruments and the possibilities of their systemic integration into the creation and implementation of practical economic policy. It also briefly defines the process of transformation of the Czech economy into the European Union.
Learning outcomes
The student will explain the theoretical foundations of economic policy, its objectives, instruments and approaches and assess the arguments for and against its implementation, including market and government failures. He/she will analyse various economic policy concepts and evaluate their effectiveness with regard to the expectations of economic entities. He/she will characterise fiscal, monetary and  foreign economic policy , their instruments, institutions and mechanisms of action. He/she will compare selected model concepts of practical economic policy and assess their application in different countries and periods.
