Course objectives (in Czech)
Seznámit studenty s angličtinou používanou v mezinárodním bankovnictví a finančnictví s důrazem na ústní komunikaci v odpovídajících oblastech podnikání. Rozvíjet poslechové dovednosti na materiálech autentických rozhovorů rodilých i nerodilých mluvčích, rozšířit slovní zásobu četbou a prohloubit čtení s porozuměním. Řečové schopnosti rozvíjet diskusí, presentací a role-play aktivitami. Vést studenty k uvědomělému používání jazyka z hlediska funkčního použití jazykových struktur v oblasti mezinárodních bankovních kontaktů.

    11. Moderní trendy v bankovnictví
    Obsah kurzu:
    1. Bank Organisation
    Banks, their function and organisational structure, banks of different types and sizes in different countries.
    2. Bank Performance
    Financial performance of banks, bank products, and services.
    Bank transactions, loans, charges and commissions.
    3. Foreign Exchange
    Money, currencies, foreign exchange, interest rates.
    4. Bank Accounts
    Current accounts, deposit accounts, giro accounts, savings accounts, FC accounts, certificates of deposit, special accounts in GB banks.
    5. Bank Cards, Cheques, Loans
    Bank cards, credit cards, debit cards, cash cards. Cheques, domestic cheques, foreign cheques. credits, loans, mortgages.
    6. Meetings
    Representing the company and representing the bank, negotiation, discussing company needs and bank services, overdraft facilities. Reports on meetings.
    7. Presentation of bank activities
    Describing services offered by the bank, currency options, offering special services to companies, arbitrage operation services.
    8. Trade Finance
    Financing of international trade, letters of credit, investment banking, securities, types of securities.
    9. Financial News
    Different areas of business, news reports relating to companies and stock markets.
    10. Financing Projects
    Project-related banking services, types of loans.
    11. Modern Banking Trends
    Important trends in areas of banking and financing, business banking, retail banking, new facilities in banking, types of insurance.
