Course objectives (in Czech)
Goal of this subject "Technical resources of information systems" is introduction of construction, characteristics and using computers (information technologies) and computer peripherals to students. The subject involves comparing characteristics of topical information technologies, using modern peripherals like scanner, CR-ROM, different kinds of printers, and others. Lessons take place at a specialized laboratory.

    4. Computer motherboards.
    5. Processors.
    6. Memories.
    7. Interfaces.
    8. Input devices.
    9. Discs.
    10. Monitors.
    11. Printers.
    12. Trends in development.
    1. The most common structure of information technologies.
    2. Personal Computers - construction, main parts. Computer diagnostics, performance tests.
    3. Detection of typical failure and fault cleaning - practical application
    4. Computer motherboards (main boards), types, possibilities
    5. Processors (CPU) - types, performance, parameters
    6. Memories - SIMM, DIMM, WRAM and so on.
    7. Interfaces and bus bars - IDE, EIDE, SCSI, parallel, serial, ISA, PCI, VLBUS, AGP
    8. Input devices - keyboard, mouse, tablet and special devices
    9. Discs - types, servicing, how to save data on damaged medium. Optical mechanics - CD-ROM, DVD mechanics
    10. Monitors and scanners: types, functions, constructions, practical representation. Graphical cards - possibilities of display, performance, resolution.
    11. Printers - types, how they work, usage, ways of print, technologies. Examples of special peripheral devices.
    12. Trends in development of technical instruments in IT. Parameters for using technical instruments.
