The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The course familiarizes students with fundamentals of image processing and computer vision.
Syllabus
  • 1) Continuous and discrete description of the image, physiological and psychological aspects of vision.
    2) Image pre-processing: sampling and image reconstruction, linear operators, addition and convolution, transformations.
    3) Geometric transformations, digital noise filtering, histogram equalization.
    4) Image compression, lossy/lossless compression, color reduction.
    5) Mathematical and fuzzy mathematical morphology.
    6) Segmentation methods, Hough transform.
    7) Global and local features, feature detection. Region descriptors, invariance to image transformations
    8) Pattern recognition, statistical methods, adjustment of classifier, cluster analysis, neural and fuzzy neural classifiers.
