Assessment methods

The course concludes with an oral examination comprising a discussion of scientific texts and a defence of a seminar paper. Students study five texts from the Business Processes block and five from the Innovation block. During the discussion, they explain selected concepts, compare authors’ approaches, defend their interpretations, and consider how the findings could be used in their research. The examiners select the specific topics during the examination. The seminar paper addresses a research or applied problem, usually related to the student’s dissertation. If the dissertation topic is unrelated to the course content, the student conducts a process mining analysis using real data provided for this purpose. Assessment covers understanding of concepts (30%), synthesis and critical interpretation of the texts (25%), application to the student’s research (25%), and defence of the seminar paper (20%).
