Course objectives
The aim of this course is introduction to meteorology oriented to the crisis management. Students obtain knowledges about basics terms of meteorology, hydrology, monitoring of atmosphere and hydrosphere, preparing of weather forecast, hazards and extreme weather exposure in Czech republic.
Syllabus
  • 1. Meteorology
    Atmosphere, basics meteorological elements, air flow, climatology, meteorological information sources, weather forcast, extreme weather exposure.
    2. Hydrology
    Hydrosphere, basics elements, overland flow, hydrological information sources, hydrological forecasting system, extrem overland flow situations.
    3. Air quality
    Air pollution, sources of air pollution, systems for monitoring air pollution.
    4. Weather forecast systems
    Meteorological forecast service, system of integrated warning service ? information system of crisis management. Hydrological forecasting service. Forcasting service for air quality.
